Welcome to Decatur Gamers!

We are a group of Decatur area game players, looking to Meetup with other gamers.

We host two "official" Meetups per month - the First Sunday and the Third Wednesday of every month. Everyone is welcome to attend these "Open Game Nights," we will have games available for you to try, or you can bring your own to share!

There are no dues to join Decatur Gamers, but we do ask for a $1 to $2 donation per Meetup that you attend to help cover costs.

Most of our events are family-friendly (we'll let you know in advance if it's not!), so bring the spouse, kids, mom & dad - whomever likes to play games!

DON'T BE SHY! Even if you have no idea how to play a game we're playing, just let us know - we are happy to teach you!

We're friendly, easy to get along with, and fun! Join us!

New Meetup: Descent: Journeys in the Dark

"Announcing a new Meetup for Decatur Gamers! ... MoreWhat: Descent: Journeys in the Dark When: Saturday, March 20, 2010 3:00 PM Where: Richland Community College One College Park Decatur, IL 62521 Join us, brave adventurers, as we descend into the depths to fight evil and hunt for mysterious treasure! We will be playing Descent: Journeys in the Dark from 3PM to game completion or exhaustion. What is Descent? Descent: Journeys in the Dark is a semi-cooperative game in which two to five players will take on the antagonistic roles of heroes and Overlord. Up to four players will choose characters with a wide assortment of skills and innate abilities to be the heroes who will explore dungeons in search of treasure and adventure. One player will take on the role of the Overlord and will control the dungeon's many traps, puzzles, and monsters. The heroes' goal will be to cooperatively conquer the dungeon, seize its many treasures, and achieve other objectives as set by the scenario. If the heroes cooperate and achieve their goals, they will all win. The Overlord's objective is simply to use all the means at his or her disposal - from deadly traps and ferocious monsters - to kill the heroes. Each hero has a certain Conquest Point value to the party and if too many Conquest Points are lost through hero death, the party loses and the Overlord wins. We will have a predetermined Overlord, and thus room for FOUR stalwart heroes. We will play at RCC (exact room to be determined). You do not need to bring anything, but we do ask that all players review the rules prior to arriving so everyone has an idea of how to play. Please note that there are only 4 spots available, so if you RSVP, please do try to attend. Thanks! Learn more here: http://www.decaturgam... "

    Battle Dex

"I got an email from someone inviting us to try an online strategy/CCG game. It's called Battle Dex and can be found here: http://battledexgame.... I downloaded it and tried it out. ... MoreIt's not bad - I need to keep playing to really figure out unit strengths. It's free to play, and we can all play against each other. Check it out. "
