Dark Tower is quasi-sci fi and will involve traveling to time and alternate realities. While in Steven King's novels most of those realities were based on off kilter versions of popular writings and movies made flesh, the game will most likely involve traveling between different game settings. One session the players may be battling a gnoll infested forest, then hunting a vampire in the mists of Ravenloft, then fighting through and ancient Dwarven fortress filled with robots. The first session the characters are all going to find their own ways to a dusty old west town known a Jerico Hill, a sort of dimensional crossroad.
If you want in and want to roll your char pre-game, use secure dice. My e-mail is [masked] just put it in where it says gm and it will send me a copy. If you roll a hopeless char you may choose to re-roll the entire set (limit: max 3 times, no one like a spoil sport). You're going to roll using 4d6, drop the lowest.
As far as backgrounds feel free to shoot them at me. I try to use as much background information as I can in a story arc so don't be shy.
Can I play as Ted Nugent aka the motor city madman? Is it feasable that the dimensional crossroads opens in Detroit in the 80's durring one of his concerts, and sweaty Teddy stumbles into the old west town of Jerico Hill?
Hmmm. I will allow it. What would the nuge be though? I'm saying ranger, with a few tweaks.
I'm not sure if a character from the books would work. This is mostly happening in Mid-Word a couple hundred years before Roland starts his quest.
I'm assuming a few people will still need to make charaters at the table. So the game probably wont actually get rolling till about 5 depending on how long it takes.
