Troubleshooters INC: Southern Hospitality

We are doing a revamp of the pulp game. The focus will be more on action/horror set in the 1930s, somewhat in the vein of BPRD with some mix of adventure.

The year is 1936 and our group find themselves in a southern town at the bequest of the mayor. Townspeople are acting strangely and suspicious events are taking place. Not knowing who else to turn, the mayor pulls some favors to bring Troubleshooters Inc to town to find out what is going on. Do they possess the skills to solve the mystery? Do they possess the nerve to face what may be their greatest fear? Tune in on Thursday to find out.

We will be using the Hero System. No previous experience needed. This will be a rather free-flowing game.

There is some leeway on the day we meet...So if we need to move the day to meet a person's schedule, there is some flexibility.

This is the due date for my second born, so if we can move it to St Mary's hospital, and you don't mind me breaking away for a bit to help out with the delivery, then I'm in. If not I would love to join the second meeting.

How long do you expect this to go? Is it a campaign, a one-shot?

I expect maybe 3 months give or take a month. If people can only make part of the games, that is ok. We will have "extra" characters.

Yes, Evan, it is. What kind of character do you want to play? The first night we will work a bit on characters backgrounds and team dynamics. The premise it that Troubleshooters INC is a private company hired to perform jobs that are risky or unusual. For some reason, they are a weirdness magnet and the strange and the unusual can be expected.

A somewhat important aspect to the game is for characters to have some psychological/physical or social complications.

Evan I think we need an explosives expert type of guy if you want to play one. This group trends toward arson . It would be nice to blow something up every once in a while .

I will bring a partially built character for you Evan. We can adjust as needed. We will spend a bit of time in the beginning to solidify the group and get a bit of "history". I am pretty easy going and will allow for changes mid-game if necessary.

The adventure will take place in Portland, Arkansas. While a portion of the history I will carry over, there will be some license. In cause you are wanting to read up on it... http://www.encyclopediaofarkansas.net/encyclopedia/entry-...

Evan, I put a character in the Forum.. The background I came up with was basically a British officer who served in India. Did a fair amount of undercover work, but kind of lost his mind while becoming a sadu priest. Taking on roles for periods of time causes him to lose his personality to the character he portrays. He has stong bureucratic skills and picked up a bit of knife skills along they way thanks to the shurpas.
