Salvation Army Community Center (map)
Join us for a free and informal Community Game Day at the Salvation Army Community Center! This event is open to everyone in the Decatur area that is looking for a fun time on Saturday. Bring a game to play OR just enjoy one of the many games that will be brought by our members.
Answers to some frequently asked questions:
What is open gaming?
Open Gaming means you can play whatever you want. Our members will bring a variety of games to share. You can play one of those games, or you can bring your own to share, too! There are no limits to what can be played (although we try to keep it family appropriate, please!).
What time does it start/end?
It starts at 1:00pm and we can play until everyone is done. Don't worry about being late or leaving early. Come when you can and leave when you need.
Should I bring a game? Should I bring anything else?
You don't have to bring a game, but you are welcome to if you wish. You don't really need to bring anything else unless you bring snacks.
Where do we play?
This Community Game Day is being held at the Salvation Army Community Center.
Who is all going to be there?
Whomever RSVPs Yes! We typically have around 15 people at our Meetups, so there's lots of opportunities to meet new people and play new games.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! When you RSVP, you can add guests. But even if you forget, it's no big deal - bring some friends along!
Does it cost to attend?
We do not charge or have dues. We do set out a donation box, and we ask for $1 - $2 per person to help cover expenses, but that is NOT required, and we don't keep track.
Is there food/drinks available?
No, you'll want to bring your own snacks and drinks.
I have other questions!
Feel free to discuss this Meetup or ask questions in our Message Board.
I will try to have a Weird War 2 adventure ready by then as well for anyone who wants to play
The community center is across the street from wildflour bakery. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
I don't, but I want anybody to be able to play in Steve's RPG and S&S if they want.
I forgot to mention that we can stay til 9 now. The farewell for our Corps Helpers is Friday instead of Sunday so we don't have to set up for it the next day. Also remember there is a really nice kitchen there if anyone wants to bring crockpots
I honestly don't know, but I can be flexible with my start time to better suit other games
Sticks & Stones only takes an hour and a half to play 2 games
With Kathy showing up after work, we had 21 gamers. I hope everyone had a great time and maybe we can have 30 next month
Lets have a big turnout to support a possible new meetup place and put our best foot forward for a possible media event as well. I'd like to see 15-20 people RSVP even on such short notice!
