You guys have me kinda itching to get back into some GW. I haven't convinced my wallet yet, but any word on when 6th edition 40K is coming out? I heard that the new edition of WHFB just came out. I'd hate to decide to get back into 40K just to have a new edition come out a year later.

I don't expect 5th Ed to go away any time soon, but there's always that risk. WFB (Warhammer Fantasy Battles) is what Justin plays. It's set in the ancient / midevil time frame. Much more restrictive on movement, though. I love 40K, but I've always been more of a sci-fi buff myself. I started in 4th Ed with Necrons. Sold them & started Space Marines. Now I've sold them & found my love of all things green! I have around 3000pts of greenskin stuff (Ork) but not much is painted yet. I'll post some pictures...if I figure out how...

It does count... As long as you put two dots on for the eyes.

As for convincing your wallet go cough up the money... It's more legal than a drug habit...but not likely as cheap! The stuff is pricey, but each person has their hobbies. Some people pay $50 for a PC game & then $20 / month to play it, I play GW. Warhammer 40K, Blood Bowl, Necromunda, Battlefleet Gothic, etc...

Believe me, I understand the worth of spending on ones hobby. I just have about 5 times too many, lol. I'm probably going to get a BB team anyway though. I just need to decide what I'll like. Time for research...

I feel your pain there. Too many hobbies, not enough time or money.

Well, it seems like Necrons got a re-build. New models, new rules, new nastiness. It will be interesting to see how they play. Plenty of tank-busting now, it seems. Here are some changes I've seen. Not saying things here are fact, nothing is for sure till you see it in the codex (usually). Items in Italic are changes to pre-existing units. Items proceeded by a "+" are new, items proceeded by a "-" are missing. All this is from GW's website:

+Necron Overlord: 4/4/5/5/3/2/3/10/3+; resurrection orb, mindshackle scarabs, tesseract labyrinth, phase shifter, sempiternal weave, retinue, dedicated transport, etc...
+Imotekh the Stormlord: 4/4/5/5/3/2/3/10/2+; unique character; keep Night Fighting in play for a prolonged period; Bloodswarm nanoscarabs; Gauntlet of fire; Phase shifter; Phylactery; Sempiternal weave; Staff of the Destroyer (hits everything under a 2D6" line with a Strength of 6 and AP 1)
+Trazyn the Infinite: 4/4/5/5/3/2/3/10/3+; unique character; if he's removed from play, he can come back by taking the place of another character in your army; if his empathic obliterator kills an enemy, it has a chance to kill all other enemies of the same type in the same combat
+Necron Cryptek: 4/4/4/4/1/2/1/10/4+; versions: Harbinger of Despair, with his teleport-enabling Veil of Darkness, and terror-inducing Abyssal Staff, Harbingers of Destruction add some anti-tank firepower, as well as enabling you to dispel or induce Night Fighting (through the Eldritch Lance and Solar Pulse respectively), Harbingers of Eternity grant re-rolls to their unit and sap the fighting ability of enemies (Chronometron and Aeonstave), Harbingers of the Storm excel at blasting deep-striking and charging enemies with bolts of S8 lighting (Ether Crystal and Lightning Field), Harbingers of Transmogrification use their mastery over the living rock to slow and stun their enemies (Seismic Crucible and Tremorstave)
+Lychguard: 4/4/5/5/1/2/2/10/3+; Dispersion Sheilds not only provide a 4+ invulnerable save, they can also rebound hits onto nearby enemies; Warscythe is now Strength 7 attacks with no armour saves
+Praetorians: 4/4/5/5/1/2/2/10/3+; Jump Infantry; Rod of Covenant - S5, AP
+Deathmarks: 4/4/4/4/1/2/1/10/3+; Deep Strike (even in opponent turn); mark units for any Deathmark squad to wound on 2+
Immortals: 4/4/4/4/1/2/1/10/3+;Troops choice; weapon option; reanimation on a 5+
Flayed Ones: 4/1/4/4/1/2/3/10/4+; lost a point of armor; reanimation
-Wraiths
-Pariahs
-Tomb Spyders
-Scarab Swarms
Warriors: 4/4/4/4/1/2/1/10/4+; lost an armor point; can self-repair, but may be wargear
Destroyers: 4/4/4/5/1/2/1/10/3+; didn't see any changes
Heavy Destroyers: 4/4/4/5/1/2/1/10/3+;Fast Attack, not Heavy Support
+Ghost Ark: 4/11/11/11; Gauss Flayer arrays; Sheilds; repair D3 wounds/turn; open-topped; skimmer; living metal
+Doomsday Ark: 4/11/11/11; Gauss Flayer arrays; Sheilds; Doomsday Cannon (S9,AP1,Lg Blast); open-topped; skimmer; living metal
+Catacomb Command Barge: 4/11/11/11; Open-topped; Skimmer; Lord can attack any unit it moves over; Overlord can expend Wounds to prevent immobilised and weapon destroyed results; Living Metal; Sweep Attack; Symbiotic Repair; Quantum Shielding; Tesla cannon
+Annihilation Barge: 4/11/11/11; Open-topped; Skimmer; Quantum Shielding; Tesla cannon; Twin-linked Tesla Destructor; Living Metal; all tesla weapons score two extra hits every time it rolls a 6 To Hit & lightning bolts have a chance of arcing through any other nearby unit
