Does anybody play either of these legendary games? I was an avid player in the early/mid 90's, ut sold all of my stuff (personal reasons) shortly thereafter. Looking to get back into it. Does anybody want to run? I can, but I don't have any of the 'Mech, Tank, Infantry, etc minis anymore. I'm getting the books, but the minis are loads of $ if you can find them. Please LMK if your interested in playing/running a game (I still have the hit chart & several other aspects memorized), I'd love to play!

I used to play Battletech, but never the actual Mechwarrior RPG. I've had a lot of non-gaming stuff going on lately and have been paring down my game time so much that I can't possibly say yes to a regularly scheduled game though. :(

I'm not likely to start for a few months yet, have to finish the Blood Bowl League first. I played this game EVERY weekend for nearly 5 years, so writing a campaign is no problem (I have the first 3 Chapters done...almost, in 2 days). It's going to seem like it's boring @ first, but you'll need the experience for later. I geared it around new players. I'm only going to have room for 4 players to start with, maybe more later, but I don't want things to get out of hand. I want to be able to keep all of the characters involved. I will have to use "Proxy" models for a while (& basic map sheets) I can get some real models & build terrain. I will post a meetup to create characters, & give everyone an intro. After that, when you have your 'Mech assignments, feel free to buy & paint a model for it if you want (extra XP avail...wink, wink, nudge, nudge). More details to come. It will only meet once a month (1st Sun, 12p-8p) at the moment.

I'm going to go a totally different direction with the campaign than I first intended. Most players are familiar with the Inner Sphere (Houses, politics, associations, etc...), but few have played as Clan warriors. This will be a Clan game, starting just prior to the invasion. I recommend reading up on the Clans, their customs & organization is unique. Playing a Clan character is fun, but very demanding of the player, and requires a challenging thought process to play well. There will be 5 players allowed. The start date is as yet undetermined, but I will keep you informed. The files are too big to upload, contact me & I will send them to you.

Battle Tech sounds like fun. What clans are available to us? Will Clan Coyote be in the mix?

All of the PCs will be from Jade Falcon (the invasion is an essential plot point & Cyote was not involved). You will start in training, to get people some experience with the Clan fighting style, customs, & society in general. I play Clans by the book as much as possible. I have the Clan Wolf & Jade Falcon books I can email to people who are interested. It's a good way to get a solid understanding before the game starts. I will assign the PCs to a unit & their 'Mechs, but you WILL play your Trial of Position (and any others necessary), it adds a depth you don't get by randomly rolling for it. If things go to plan, you may be the 'Mech element of a Nova (read up on that, wink, wink, nudge, nudge), but you'll have to qualify well (VERY well, 3+ kills in your trial). I'm starting to fill in some details of the campaign now. I'm planning on starting in 3045, just before the invasion.
