Paul Vinton here,
I know both Josh and Scott from working downtown myself, I knew Josh was an avid scifi/fantasy reader but didn't know he played! I've been bugging Scott FOR YEARS to dig out his Warhammer figs (if not being used SELL THEM TO ME!!!), and play a game. I posted a short history in the "miniatures" thread, I've been playing with little soldiers since I started collecting in the 70's. I have a ton of old lead historicals collecting dust, pretty much play WHFB anymore since I seem to do well with that game. I attend several local tournies at CCGS in Springfield and at least two grand tournaments per year playing Warhammer. I run a local group also, the Central Illinois Amigos. We have members from all over Illinois and beyond, we'd be glad to show up one night and run some demo games and meet folks! |

Hi,
My name is Mike Bonk. I'm 43, married and have 4 kids ranging from 10 mnths to 10 years. We relocated to Decatur from SE Michigan about 4 years ago. I found Board Game Geek about 3 years ago and have been playing/buying since then. My family has attended the last 2 GenCons. My wife is a good sport and plays games with me. My 10 year old also plays. Lately he and I have been playing Monsterpocalypse. I prefer board games with themes I enjoy like last night on earth, Monsterpocalypse, Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, etc... |

Welcome Mike, you have come to the right place! Have you ever tried Destroy All Monsters?

No, never played it. I didn't see that game listed on BGG. Do you mean monsters menace america?
Thanks, Mike |

Hello everyone! I think I've actually met several people on this message board, since I own Gryfalia's Aerie in Bloomington. I'm pretty sure I met some people at Flatcon too, which is always a ton of fun.
My real name is Ken Roth, married to Kristi (who grew up in Argenta and whose parents now live back in Northern Decatur). I visit town often since we live so close, and have often wished that you all could have a game group. Now, thanks to the newspaper article and my eagle-eyed Mother-in-law, I know you! Of course, I play lots of games, tho since I'm normally running the store (or working at my day job) I don't have as much time to play as I'd like. Thankfully one of your available days is a Sunday, when I'm closed, so I will be able to come on down and get beat up by some Decatur BGing talent! I love getting chatting about games, so if anyone has any questions by all means please ask away! |

Hi, I'm Kathleen Dudley, aka Kathy, aka Justin's wife. I'm currently a secretary for Decatur Public Schools. Justin & I have been married for 5 years now and are, as of August 2009, proud homeowners.
I've always enjoyed your typical board games and card games. Justin and I have slowly started expanding our game collection as time has passed, and that's been a very special thing that we enjoy together. We love trying new games. My game of choice is Munchkin, though I am always up for something new. |

Well, Kristi grew up in the big ole house where West Elm goes over the tracks. I asked, but she didn't know you, but she's pretty old..;-) |
