I know of a few people wanting to do some Yugioh stuff here at Richland. Let me know if you are interested and I'll pass your information onto him.

Alright, so I had an idea for the ygo freeplay events at Decatur Con on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Already ran them by Tyler, and he seems interested. It's called "Duel the Master" and it's an event I witnessed first hand at GenCon 2009. Basically, it'll cost $1 to enter, you can enter as many times as you like. I'll have a certain amount of decks out (Usually 4-10) and my opponent will choose one at random for me to play with. (Usually by dice or spinning a wheel, etc.) We play out 1 game. Should the player beat me, they get a rare card, should they lose, they don't get anything. For each game I go without a loss, I add one more rare card to the jackpot, until someone beats me, in which case I hand over all the rare cards that have accumulated up to that point. Certain games have special rules pertaining to that particular deck. (i.e. We both choose our opening hands and first turn draws, and show them to the opponent.) Any thoughts?

If you wanted to do this event Friday and Saturday, that would be fine. We are doing a major Tournament on Sunday and it would not help to have competing events going on at the same time. I'll collect money at registration and just pass it along your way at the end of the day.

Oh, I know about the tourney on Sunday, and there was no intention of this event happening on that day. Speaking about the tournament, Tyler and I have been discussing it, and it's starting to look more and more like it's not going to happen the way he envisioned it. He wanted to do a round robin tag tourney, but with the amount of people dropping out of it (Looks like 2 Teams competing for 2 Collectable Tins, which would cost more money than we'd get back), chances are the best the tournament could do would be a Swiss Round Tournament. The prize pool will also have to be changed, accordingly. Instead of the 2 Tins, other prizes could be substituted, such as rare singles, or playmats, or whatever would entice other players to play. You could even call it the Decatur City Championship. Seeing as Tyler asked me to help, I'll be able to help supply some of the prizes for the event, since I have a vast amount of product that I have no need for.

Good to hear, I just talked to Tyler who filled me in as well. I'll look forward to seeing you both at the convention this week.
