I hate to be the spoil sport, but we will have some problems with reporting the "Gambling" event.
Jeff and I suggest that the winnings be more of a 50/50 pot. The other 50 be donated to the wonderful non-profit organization..."Decatur Gamers." This will also assist in the gathering funds to keep the website. Oh yah! I love the idea...I am in. |

Oh that's a great idea! I was just going to be a scoff law, but your idea is better.

Dang it Julie, there goes my plans to fleece my fellow game friends.
Excellent idea, I'll look forward to participating in this event. |

We'd be scoff laws anyway. You cannot hold 50/50s or raffles without 1) being a certified not for profit organization and 2) having a permit from the county clerk.

I'm ok with scoffing the law. Still, I kinda like the 50/50 idea as a fundraiser!

I imagine as long as we keep this thing in house and nobody goes blabbing to the country clerk, we could hold such an event.

Yeah, I say we move forward.
I want to revise my original idea. I originally thought it would be fun if everyone brought in quarters to play, but I think that will end up being a PITA. So I think we should just play with gaming coins (so we have that "real" feel), but everyone will just add cash to the "Inn". Some details we need to work out:
I think that we should have a game moderator; someone to run the inn, bank, and be rules judge. If no one objects, I'll do that - let someone else have a spot at the table. I'm diggin' this idea! |

I'm all for moving ahead with this. I suppose I'll take my turn and offer to host at my place. I live near William street bridge.
