The Champaign guys will be hosting a CITW meeting on Saturday, May 8th. We will be meeting at The Dragons Table, 205 N. Market St, Champaign, IL (217) 359-0503.
The Game Schedule is as follows. Morning session Tom Hendricks will run a Star Fleet Battles game: Recon in Force. Commander Dwight "Sandy" JoHansen leads a group of starships to their new base at Rigel 4. The area of space between Starbase 26 and Rigel 4 lies only minutes from the Romulan Neutral Zone. It's been several years since ANY Romulans have been seen in this sector. "Admiral Kronos, sir? Ja, what is it? Speak up man! Several ships are entering our sector. Our first catch of the day...GOOD!" Afternoon session Dean Spitz will run a War of the Roses game in 15mm using Impetus Rules ALL DAY GAME Greg Novak will be running an all day game: The Battle of Granny Quarter Creek II – August 1780 A "what if" battle between Gates and Cornwallis in South Carolina in 1780 – with both commanders having the troops they wanted there – not what they had! Rules are Volley & Bayonet Wing Scale, 28mm figures. The Guards vs. the Marylanders, the Over the Mountain lads vs. the Jaegers, Patriot American militia vs. Loyalist American militia - the fate of the war in the south is at hand! If we need another game I will try to rustle up a Pulp game of some sort. |

What time does the "afternoon session" start and what time does the "all day session" end?

No clue, all I got in the email on the group board was the start time. I'm assuming that the afternoon event will start at noon or 1 pm.
As for the all day event, it all depends on the game master. I would guest-imate that it will probably run until 5 pm or 6 pm. No guarantees though, I've heard of miniatures games going for +12 hours, but I don't think that will happen in this case. |

SNIP Volley & Bayonet is not like most miniatures game in that it was designed to finish full-sized battles in less time with little minutia. Greg Novak is the co-designer of the rule set, and so a rare opportunity itself. He is an accomplished historian and always has unique tweaks that lend authenticity even in his 'what if' scenarios. |

I had a great time Saturday in Champaign. The Tabletop Warriors were very enjoyable to play with and John, the owner of Dragon's Table, deserves thanks for allowing events in his shop. Here are some pictures if anyone is interested. Of course, no photos of me.
![]() http://home.comcast.n... Bill, you were very right about Greg. His reputation is well earned. I'm looking forward to more mini battles in the future. Edited by Rick Maurer on May 11, 2010 5:47 PM |
