If anyone is looking for a Post-Apocalypse RPG, Morrow Project is great. It's based in the near future after the 3rd World War. I uploaded an image of the game story into the files section. I haven't played the game in 20 yrs, so it'll take me some time to get things organized. I'm just wanting to see if there is any interest. LMK if this sounds interesting.
The team will start out in the Central IL area, but is free to head any direction. It's kind of a "sandbox" style game, not many limitations. It's well written & should be loads of fun to play. The game is best with about 3-7 players, so I'll say 5 (middle of the road). Again, it's not ready yet, but can be very soon. I'm adding details about different points the team may investigate. I would like to play and I have played it years ago. The timing is not best for me and my schedule may bit a bit wonky so don't wait for me. If you want to do a one shot as an RPG buffet we could work it out for a Saturday. If people want to continue you could work it out from there.

Do we get to meet up with Snake Eaters?

As I said, I'm only in the planning stages ATM. Snake Eaters are a possibility, but it will not be a combat-focused game. The Project was designed to be rebuilders. I have some interesting twists to character creation, however. They will make it much easier to have a more capable character. Lame characters would not be selected for the project; Morrow was looking for the best.
I can provide areas of interest that the team will want to acquire knowledge of: Decatur, Springfield, Champaign, Peoria, Kankakee, and Chicago...primarily. I'm working on the details as we speak. If you want to buy maps of those areas, that's fine. I will have some for myself with game notes. I'd like to start in Jan, but nothing is set yet. Improvisation is a blast, but I want some things prepared well ahead of time. It will meet every other week, mostly to give players time for other activities, but also to give me time to prep new material. Be advised, I have a tendancy to storytell a lot more than die roll, but it depends a lot on the situation (and the comic effect...hehehe). Expect things to get weird from time to time: murderous hippies, peace-loving bikers, Gay Black Jewish Klansmen (saw it on a t-shirt...should be a hoot!), and other assorted things that make no sense anywhere but in my demented sense of humor. |

OK, I did set a tentative start date for the game...Feb 12th. My wife is having surgery soon & the recovery period will go till the end of Jan, so I'm waiting till Feb to start anything. Things are comming together as we speak. One Char has been made already & I'm working on NPCs. I will start on time.

Sounds cool to me.

Wow, that's 3 players & it's still almost 2 months away. Well, I've added another helper for myself in the planning department to make sure a quality game is ready on time. Keep your eyes open for 1-2 more players. I'm hoping to talk someone into handling the logistics of the game for me (rolling dice, running combat, etc) so I can focus on the story part, and also provide another voice for NPCs. I want it to be seamless and smooth for the players.
Should be a good time! |

Well, David, in regards to a lack of sign up...i don't think that merely a forum post is sufficient since most people don't have a clue as to the subject and probably never looked much farther into it. Secondly, nothing definite has been set.
Why not have one of the organizers set it up as a meet up...you would then get the event emailed to all the members and it would show up on the calendar of events. |
